The Kansas City Chiefs were supposed to have a "down" season given the weapons, or lack thereof for Patrick Mahomes to utilize.

But the Chiefs won the Super Bowl, defeating the San Francisco 49ers 25-22 in overtime with rookie receiver Rashee Rice emerging as a genuine weapon for Mahomes.

Rice would finish his rookie season totaling 1,200 yards and eight touchdowns on 105 receptions (including playoffs).

Among rookies, Kansas City's No. 4 finished second in yards, fourth in touchdowns, and third for yards per game (58.6). But while all those stats are impressive, there's an even better one per PFF.

In the entire season, Rice only had three drops on all his targets when Mahomes looked his way, more often than not, he hauled in the catch.

Not much was expected of the Chiefs' receiving unit this season as some thought that this was Mahomes' weakest supporting cast of his career. Enter Rice.

The rookie finished second in yards and receptions, behind only Travis Kelce among fellow Chiefs players, and led the team in touchdowns as well as he further showcased his ability to come up clutch time and time again.

In the playoffs, Rice continued his stellar performances, as he hauled in 26 catches from his 33 targets to the tune of 262 yards and a touchdown while averaging a decent 65.5 yards per game.

But for all of that, Rice only had three drops and for a first-year receiver, that is impressive any way you look at it.

The Chiefs' season ended with them hoisting their second consecutive Lombardi trophy, and Rice's consistency was a big reason why.
