Chiefs Ex Tyreek Hill Reveals Struggles Watching Teammates Win Super Bowls: 'It Was Hard For Me'

Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill has revealed his thoughts on seeing his former team, the Kansas City Chiefs , win back-to-back Super Bowls since leaving the franchise.

Hill left after the 2021 season and signed on with the Dolphins. But in a cruel twist, the Chiefs then hoisted the Lombardi trophy in 2022 and 2023, while Hill and the Dolphins were one-and-done in the playoffs in both years.

Speaking on the " Million $ Worth of Game podcast ," Hill revealed he had a tough time watching his former team win Super Bowl glory in 2022.

“The first year they went, me and my wife took a trip to Tokyo because it was hard for me,” Hill said. “I don’t want to look at no game, so we went to Tokyo for the first year, and when they won. I reached out to all the guys like I’m happy for y’all man, I’m proud of y’all. But this year, when they won, I watched the whole game. I’m cool [with it] now, but the first year was kinda hard trying to get over that hump.”

While Hill does have a Super Bowl ring of his own from the 2019/20 season when the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers, he was then part of a losing Super Bowl in 2020 and then lost the AFC Championship in 2021.

After that, despite wanting to stay in Kansas City , a bigger offer from Miami came up, and Hill took it. But coincidently, the Chiefs have now won back-to-back Super Bowls in the two years Hill hasn't been there.

No doubt it would have been difficult for Hill to see his former team and teammates win Super Bowl glory, but he seems content with the decision he made.
