The Kansas Legislature's special session is not only looking at a tax cut package, but also the possibility of luring the Kansas City Chiefs and Royals to make their home in Kansas. Sedgwick County Commission Chair Ryan Baty tells KNSS News he has doubts. He says that while he is a big Chiefs and Royals fan, he doesn't know "if it's something we need to rally tax dollars around on that level."

Tomorrow is Juneteenth, a national holiday celebrating the end of slavery in the United States. Baty says he worked to get the holiday recognized for Sedgwick when he first took office a year-and-a-half ago. He says the employees of Sedgwick County expressed support for the holiday, and he sees it as a morale builder for the 2,800 county government workers.

Ryan Baty commented during his weekly chat with Steve and Ted in the Morning on KNSS.
