Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes' Mom 'Could Use Prayers' After Major Announcement

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, a three-time Super Bowl MVP, is arguably the face of the NFL. Cheering him on since Day 1, his mother, Randi Mahomes.

Despite Mahomes' meteoric rise in fame, Randi, who two other children, Jackson, 24, and Mia, 12, never quit her job. She continued to work as an event planner long after the Chiefs selected Mahomes as the No. 7 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

But at age 51, she's ready to call it a career. Randi posted on June 27, "Tomorrow is my last day at the 'Tree' Hollytree. 19 1/2 years & TRULY on a roller coaster of emotions especially because Hollytree is my Family too.

"Could use prayers for this huge leap of faith. Focusing on my kids and being a 'Grandi' which i love more than anything."

Randi is a grandmother to Mahomes' two children with Brittany Mahomes, Sterling, 3, and Bronze, 1.

Randi also shared the sign her co-workers made to commemorate her official last day on the job.

Many fans were surprised to learn that Randi was still working, as her eldest son signed a $450 million contract extension in 2020. However, Randi explained during a recent appearance on " The Mom Game Podcast " that it's not a comfortable feeling letting her son pay for things.

"I still look at him the same," Mahomes said. "I look at him the same way I look at Jackson and Mia... and I treat him the same as the other two."

While Randi is retired from her day job, Mahomes' mom still has numerous sponsorship deals that she continues to promote on Instagram.
