Man in critical condition after Saturday morning shooting in KC

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Police Department is investigating a shooting that left one man hospitalized and in critical condition Saturday morning.

According to KCPD, at about 5 a.m., officers were dispatched to a reported shooting near the 5600 block of Scarritt Avenue in Kansas City, Missouri — a few blocks south of Gladstone Boulevard and about a half-mile north of Independence Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers found a man suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was later taken to a hospital where he was reported to be in critical condition.

KCPD said this is an ongoing investigation and detectives are trying to determine what led up to the shooting.
