Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce is a member of a rare club of players who've remained with the same franchise their entire career.

Kelce, the Chiefs' third-round pick in the 2013 NFL Draft, recently signed a two-year, $34.25 million deal that keeps him in Kansas City through 2025.

However, Kelce raised some eyebrows when discussing the "only" reason he'd leave the Chiefs to play for another team. The comment was made in the " New Heights " podcast he does with his brother, Jason Kelce, who spent his entire career with the Philadelphia Eagles before retiring this year.

Jason asked, "Would you play for a team in London?"

Travis replied without hesitation: "Yes ... I’m waiting for that team … to play for another team other than the Chiefs. Like that’s the only situation, is if I get to play abroad."

"You mean your home team be abroad,” Jason clarified, and Travis agreed. After the clip of Travis' passionate statement went viral, the 34-year-old walked back his comments.

"Let’s be honest, I’d never leave the Chiefs … but playing in London sounds fun," Travis posted on X on June 29.

Of course, an international-based NFL franchise likely won't happen until after Travis retires. But the Kelce brothers agree that London is the most likely spot for that to come to fruition.

"If there's an NFL team, the first city it's coming to is London," Jason said. "I'll go on record for that."

"There's the most amount of fans here [outside the US], there's the biggest appetite in London. It's a major market," he continued. "The only other cities it would also be in would be, like ... I know Germany has a lot of NFL fans. So probably a German team, I'd assume Munich or Berlin."

"But London is getting the first one if it ever happens."
