Tom Brady has one big regret from NFL career amid Patrick Mahomes admission

Tom Brady's approach to the game of football is one that allowed him to consistently win at the very top despite not being as physically-gifted or skilled in comparison to his rivals.

A quarterback who never had the biggest arm or the quickest feet, Brady dominated the sport through his preparation, understanding and leadership - going on to win seven Super Bowl rings and sitting alone at the top of the heap as the greatest to ever do it.

After retiring from the sport in 2022, Brady has watched Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes win two consecutive Super Bowl's, with many believing him to have the abilities to go on and rival his legendary status.

Brady himself has admitted that he is a huge fan of Mahomes, but has a different takeaway than what many fans would imagine when he watches him play the sport after his own retirement.

Speaking to 'The Pivot' podcast, Brady admitted: "What I would have changed was, ‘OK, there’s part of me that still loves … You see these young players. I see, like, Patrick [Mahomes] out there at quarterback, laughing, having fun. I’m like, ‘I used to be like that!’ What the hell happened to me? I just got too serious."

Brady went on to discuss how he wished he played the game with the joyous emotions that he sees from Mahomes, who has won three Super Bowl rings in the past five seasons.

Brady defeated Mahomes in the Super Bowl four years ago, when the Tampa Bay Buccaneers beat the Chiefs - giving Mahomes his only loss in the championship game.

Unlike Brady, Mahomes has won with his huge arm and playmaking ability - regularly making miraculous throws down the field. But similarly, both quarterbacks have spent their years playing with a dominant tight end, with Travis Kelce being Mahomes' go-to option as Rob Gronkowski had been for Brady with the New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

But after retiring from the sport in 2022, Brady is now set to join the FOX Sports commentary booth where he will call games in the 2024 - beginning in week one when the Cleveland Browns will host the Dallas Cowboys .
