STONE COUNTY, Mo. — A Kansas City man drowned in Table Rock Lake on Tuesday.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), 61-year-old Christopher D. Moore drowned in Cow Creek Cove, about four miles south of Kimberling City, at around 4:42 p.m. on July 2.

Man shot, killed in Kansas City Northland apartment

MSHP said Moore had been hanging on the side of a pontoon boat. When he let go, the boat drifted away and out of Moore’s reach. He began to struggle, according to MSHP, and went underwater.

According to MSHP, Moore’s wife pulled him from the water “after an unknown amount of time” and started life-saving measures. Moore died at the scene.
