    Motorcyclist ejected onto hood of car during hit-and-run in Kansas City

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A motorcycle driver has serious injuries after they were ejected onto the hood of a car and taken a block during a hit-and-run in Kansas City on Friday morning.

    According to Kansas City police, around 1:15 a.m., a motorcyclist was stopped at a light on Southwest Trafficway at 35th Street when they were hit and ejected from the motorcycle onto the hood and into the windshield of a Honda Civic.

    Police said the person driving the car was speeding when they hit the motorcyclist.

    The person driving the Civic continued southbound, with the driver of the motorcycle still on the hood and windshield.

    The driver of the Civic hit the brakes at 36th Street and the motorcyclist was thrown forward into the street.

    According to police, the car was “disabled.” Police said the driver got out of his car and ran from the scene east on 36th Street and then north on Jefferson.

    The driver of the motorcycle received serious injuries and was taken to an area hospital. Police said impairment is suspected by the Honda Civic driver.
