KANSAS CITY, Mo. — A quick errand to buy some household bleach turned out to be a big win for one man in Kansas City, Missouri.

While picking up the household bleach at a convenience store in the area of Emanuel Cleaver II Boulevard and Prospect Avenue, the man also decided to buy a couple of $1,000,000 Black Diamond” scratchers tickets for $10 a piece, according to the Missouri Lottery .

“I grabbed the tickets, got my bleach, and I went back home,” he told the Missouri Lottery . “I was scratching it and I thought I won $50 but, as I kept scratching, I couldn’t even believe that there was $50,000 there.”

He told the Missouri Lottery the whole thing felt surreal to him because of the date he purchased the winning ticket.

“I was looking at the number on the ticket, and it was number 19 in the pack, and I bought it on the 19th and it was just weird how that happened,” he said.
