Travis Kelce's Two-Word Nickname for Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes' Mom

Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes has been teammates with tight end Travis Kelce ever since he was selected as the No. 7 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft.

Mahomes and Kelce have since won three Super Bowls together, but their chemistry extends to off-the-field, as well. The 34-year-old tight and the 28-year-old quarterback are best friends and incredibly close with each other's family.

While Mahomes didn't attend the 2024 ESPYs, the three-time Super Bowl MVP's mother, Randi Mahomes, represented her son at the awards ceremony in Los Angeles. Randi brought her daughter, Mia, as her date.

While Kelce didn't attend the ESPYs, he ran into Randi at dinner the night before a restaurant Mahomes recommended. Walking the carpet in front of the Dolby Theatre, Randi revealed Kelce yelled out her nickname when they bumped into on another.

“Mama Mahomes, Mama Mahomes,” Randi recalled to People magazine. The 51-year-old revealed Kelce uses the nickname “every time” she sees him. “And he is such a ball of energy.”

Kelce and Mahomes regularly refer to each other as “brothers” in interviews, so the All-Pro tight end’s moniker for Randi is on brand. Kelce’s mother, Donna Kelce, has a similar nickname, as he and his older brother, Jason Kelce, call her “Mama Kelce.”

During the ESPYs, Mahomes took home the award for “Best NFL Player” and “Best Male Athlete.”
