Love Fund kicks off 2024 School Supply Drive benefiting local kids

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Love Fund is gearing up to get 8,000 students back to school with the supplies they need to succeed. Already, amazing community partners like 15 and Mahomies are stepping up to help and you can too!

Tune in July 18, 2024, as the FOX4 team holds the Back to School telethon starting at 7am. We’ll be interviewing everyone involved as well as school officials detailing how your donations directly affect students in our area.

A $25 donation will cover all of the supplies for one student. No need to go shopping for school supplies to donate, we’re working with suppliers to get a great deal. For every $25 donation, a backpack will be filled with supplies that are age-specific for one KC kid in need. Our goal is to fill 8,000 backpacks for students in need – which makes our fundraising goal $200,000! Donate at the link above to help us reach that goal and make sure every kid in our community who needs school supplies has them on the first day of school.

• Throughout July – dine and donate at all metro area Taco Naco locations and round up to donate.
• Sundays in July – play at Craft Putt and a portion of sales will go to school supplies.
• July 17, 2024 – take the day off and order from Minksy’s . Mention the Love Fund or enter “LOVE25” at checkout and 25% of sales will go to the Love Fund.
• July 18, 2024 – Grab a dozen donuts from Mr. D’s Donut Shop and a percentage helps the kids.
• July 21, 2024, Celebrate National Ice Cream, Day at Betty Rae’s. Your purchase of a sweet treat benefits the Love Fund.

The FOX4 Love for Children was founded 40 years ago by a group of FOX4 employees. From that small group, it has grown into a 501c3 charity that has helped thousands of kids in our community, fulfilling needs that might otherwise fall through the gaps of other charities.
