    KCPD, highway patrol investigating after body recovered from Missouri River

    KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Police Department and Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating after a body was pulled from the Missouri River Monday evening.

    The Kansas City Fire Department said crews responded around 6:20 p.m. to the Missouri River in the 1000 block of River Front Road near Riverfront Park after receiving a call of a body floating in the river.

    After crews arrived at the boat ramp, KCFD quickly located the body floating 40 to 50 feet offshore.

    KCFD launched a rescue boat and recovered the body just before 7 p.m. No name has been released at this time.

    KCPD and MSHP will be conducting the investigation.
