Patrick Mahomes takes drastic action at Kansas City Chiefs training camp after historic move

Patrick Mahomes plans to bring a TV to the Kansas City Chiefs facility during training camp this year after the release of EA Sports' College Football 25 game this week.

The game is the first of its kind to be released in nine years since NCAA Football 14, which was released in July 2013, before EA dropped the game to concentrate on the Madden series - bringing out a game each year since then.

It's official release was on Monday, with thousands taking to social media to show clips of the game which appears to have gone down well with fans and players alike.

But it could not have come at a worse time for Mahomes, after just returning from his off-season holiday with him now set to return to training camp this week - with the Chiefs being one of the first teams back in, set to start on Sunday.

And so the quarterback has made plans to bring a TV to the facility so that he's able to play alongside his teammates amid the hectic offseason preparations.

Mahomes said: "This is my first year that I'm bringing a TV. I have never brought a TV before, but NCAA (EA College Football 25) came out. I brought a TV for NCAA and the Olympics... so that's why I'm doing that."

The game is the first since the NCAA rules changed, allowing players to earn money from name, image and likeness (NIL) deals with hundreds of players likely to financially benefit from the upcoming game.

EA confirmed the game's comeback three years ago with this summer being targeted as the first issue of the new franchise. However, many had figured that the game would be postponed, or perhaps even never to be released after the page had gone quiet for multiple months.

Mahomes had been to Texas Tech, playing as a Red Raider for three seasons before the Chiefs made him a first-round pick, being the second quarterback selected in the draft behind Mitchell Trubisky - who the Chicago Bears took with the second overall pick.

While he'll likely spent some time playing the new game, all his attentions will be on winning another Super Bowl - in the hopes of becoming the first quarterback to win three consecutive rings and furtherly cementing his legacy as the greatest of all-time alongside Tom Brady.
