Patrick Mahomes is ‘done’ with having kids after third child

Patrick Mahomes is calling it quits.

During a training camp press conference on Tuesday, the Chiefs quarterback humorously remarked that while he’s thrilled about the upcoming addition to the Mahomes family , he doesn’t plan on having a fourth child.

“I’m done. I’ll say that,” Mahomes said during a training camp press conference, per People. “I said three and I’m done.”

On Friday, the three-time Super Bowl MVP and his wife Brittany announced that they were expecting a third child with a heartwarming Instagram video , captioned “Round three, here we come.”

The video featured their daughter Sterling, 3, running with sonogram photos while holding hands with her little brother, Bronze, 1.

The family sported matching white T-shirts and neutral-toned outfits.

“I always wanted to have kids young,” Mahomes said. “I got to grow up in the locker room, I think I’ve talked about it before — it made such an impact in my life, so I wanted to have kids young.”

The 28-year-old, who described fatherhood as “awesome” during Tuesday’s press conference, mentioned how Brittany “does a great job” of managing her role as both a spouse and a mother.

“We still go out and enjoy our life and let our kids see these great things,” he said. “It is really cool ‘cause I spend so much time in the building at football for these eight, seven months, and whenever I’m with my family, I wanna enjoy those moments.”

The family of four – soon-to-be five – recently returned from a family vacation to Europe, which included stops in Spain , Portugal, Italy and Switzerland, as seen on Brittany’s social media.

The Chiefs star and Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Rookie also made appearances at Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Amsterdam, country singer Morgan Wallen’s concert in London and Wimbledon’s second-round match between Carlos Alcaraz and Frances Tiafoe.

The couple, who co-own the NWSL’s KC Current, also enjoyed a double date with Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift, per Brittany’s Instagram.

Patrick and Brittany, high school sweethearts , began dating when he was a sophomore and she was a junior at Whitehouse High School in Texas.

They exchanged vows in Hawaii in March 2022.

Mahomes won his third Super Bowl ring when the Chiefs beat the 49ers in February.

The Chiefs kickoff their preseason on Aug. 10 against the Jaguars and officially begin their title defense on Sept. 5 against the Ravens in the NFL’s season opener.
