Clyde Edwards-Helaire’s wife shares photo of Chiefs players on Hallmark movie set

Chiefs veterans will report Friday to training camp in St. Joseph, but some of them already were in uniform this week at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.

But they weren’t doing football activities. They were on the set of the forthcoming Hallmark Christmas movie, “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.”

Chiefs coach Andy Reid, wide receiver Mecole Hardman, running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire, defensive end George Karlaftis and guard Trey Smith will be in the movie, which stars Hallmark regulars Tyler Hynes and Hunter King.

“Today” co-host Jenna Bush Hager will appear in the film, too.

Hallmark has kept things hush-hush about the movie, but Edwards-Helaire’s wife, JoJo, shared a photo of her husband on the set with Hynes, Bush Hager, Karlaftis and Hardman.

This is from JoJo’s Instagram Story.

That appears to be on the Arrowhead field and they’re standing in front of a green screen. That’s used to make a special background, so one can’t help but wonder what that will look like in the movie.

Bush Hager talked about the movie earlier this week on “Today,” including her conversations with Reid and Donna Kelce, the mother of Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. Donna Kelce is also going to be in the movie.

Filming a Christmas movie in July heat in Kansas City is no joke, as Bush Hager got a taste of summer here.

“It feels hot today, right guys? Nothing like the heat dome in Kansas City,” Bush Hager said. “It was the hottest day of the year and it was Christmas, so the sweat stains were something to be seen.”

“Today” also shared a glimpse of Ed Begley Jr., Diedrich Bader, Donna Kelce and King shooting a scene in this clip.
