Chiefs Super Bowl hero tabbed as 'one of the greats' in the NFL

You could make the argument that Kansas City Chiefs cornerback Trent McDuffie was the MVP of Super Bowl LVIII the way he locked down the pass catchers of the San Francisco 49ers.

NFL personnel around the league agree with how talented the Washington product is, as he was ranked as the No. 6 cornerback in the NFL, per ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.

"He's such a good player,” one NFC executive said, via Fowler. “He lacks unique physical skills but he's about as good as they come with technique, footwork, quickness and feel. He continually shows up with big plays in key moments."

One coordinator added that he believes McDuffie will go down as one of the greats.

"[He’s a] pure, more fluid corner in space than [L’Jarius] Sneed,” the coordinator said, via Fowler. “Might not be as physical as him but that's coming with experience -- he has that gear. He's going to be a great one."

McDuffie was ranked as high as No. 3 on the list of cornerbacks. He’ll need to be that great now that Sneed is in Tennessee as the Chiefs look to become the first team in NFL history to win three straight Super Bowls.
