KCPD attempting to locate vehicle in deadly hit-and-run on The Paseo

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas City police detectives are attempting to locate a vehicle involved in a deadly hit-and-run incident that happened Wednesday afternoon.

The vehicle is described as a white two-door 1999 Ford F350 with Missouri license plate 4YHP39 and vin number 1FTWX32S0XED42289. The vehicle belonged to the victim.

The incident was reported just after 1 p.m. in the area of E. 29th Street and The Paseo .

KCPD said an unknown suspect was attempting to steal the vehicle when the owner attempted to stop the suspect.

Police said the suspect stole the truck and drove away dragging the victim with the vehicle. The victim was then dislodged from the vehicle and thrown to the pavement. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The suspect left the scene in the stolen vehicle without stopping, according to police.
