Ja'Marr Chase seemingly shades Patrick Mahomes in newly released video: 'I'm salty'

Ja'Marr Chase 's rivalry with Patrick Mahomes has a new chapter.

The NFL's social media team posted a video of Chase on Wednesday, as part of its Top 100 Players of 2024 campaign. In the clip, an interviewer asked Chase who he thought was the top star on this year's list.

    Chase's response?

"I'm not saying him," he replied, likely referring to Mahomes.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback, who won his third Super Bowl last season, topped the list in 2023 . The NFL hasn't released the full 2024 ranking yet.

"I give credit when it's due, but I'm not saying his name," Chase continued.

The interviewer casually replied, "I don't know who you're talking about," to which the Cincinnati Bengals pass-catcher said, "Yeah you do."

"I'm not saying his name, brother. I'm sorry," Chase added. "Joe Burrow. I'm not saying (the other) guy's name. He's good. He's amazing. He's good. Not going to lie. I'm salty, though. I'm a little salty. Two years in a row. But I'm putting Burrow first."

The Chiefs ended the Burrow-less Bengals' playoff chances last season when they beat them 25-17 in Week 17 after defeating them in the AFC championship game the previous year. Cincinnati, however, won over Kansas City in the AFC title game during the 2021 season.

Chase has had a playful beef with Mahomes in the past , asking "Pat who?" when receiving questions about the QB last summer. He and the Bengals open training camp for the 2024 season Wednesday .
