Chiefs WR Rashee Rice Put On Notice By NFL Analyst

The defending champion Kansas City Chiefs are looking to do one of the most difficult things in all of sports, and that is to win a third championship in a row.  Last season, the Chiefs’ offense looked lackluster by their standards at times, but as the season went on, they got much better.

With Patrick Mahomes at quarterback and Travis Kelce at tight end, the Chiefs are always going to be in the mix, but they have had a lot of changes at wide receiver over the years, which has resulted in some tough moments on offense.

While there were some tough moments last season, the Chiefs did see rookie wide receiver Rashee Rice emerge as their No. 1 option at the position by the end of the season.

However, thanks to a challenging offseason off the field, Rice was recently named as a player under pressure to perform in 2024 by Jeff Diamond of The33rdTeam.com.

Here’s what he had to say .

“Despite too many early season drops, Rashee Rice looked like a second-round steal (No. 55 overall) by season’s end. After all, he was the Kansas City Chiefs’ top wide receiver by a significant margin in a Super Bowl season.

Now Rice faces a possible league suspension and criminal charges after a high-speed hit-and-run crash in which he was driving. The Chiefs also signed Marquise Brown in free agency and drafted Xavier Worthy in this year’s first round, putting Rice’s role in question. He has a lot of work to do on and off the field.”

What should we expect from Rashee Rice in 2024?

Last season, Rice totaled 79 receptions, 938 receiving yards, and seven receiving touchdowns. As a second-round pick, Rice really emerged and had a nice rookie season. However, with off the field issues, it is hard to know what we will see from Rice in 2024.

With a potential suspension looming, the Chiefs used their first-round pick to draft wide receiver Xavier Worthy and then also brought in Marquise Brown. While adding some wide receiver depth was necessary, the Chiefs’ offseason indicates that they might think Rice is going to miss significant time.

Hopefully, Rice can get himself together off the field as we wait to see what the NFL rules in his hit and run case. Furthermore, depending on how much he plays for the Chiefs in 2024, he could have the potential to be a 1,000-yard receiver.
