Raiders' rookie makes critical error trolling Patrick Mahomes with 'Kermit the Frog' puppet at training camp

A Las Vegas Raiders fan has inadvertently helped a rookie player on the team make a critical mistake.

This fan had a particular theme going on when he was out at training camp practice on Thursday. He held a "Kermit the Frog" puppet adorned with Patrick Mahomes' signature hairstyle and a red Kansas City Chiefs jersey. He also had a pretty suggestive shirt involving Mahomes and a referee.

The fan passed off the "Kermit Mahomes" puppet to Raiders rookie S Trey Taylor after practice — a player who could be directly (and now indirectly) responsible for defending against Mahomes this season. Taylor proceeded to mock Mahomes with the puppet, while fans made a raspy, Kermit the Frog-like impression of Mahomes' voice.

Needless to say, Mahomes has already taken notice. He sees everything, even if he doesn't always admit it. His trainer, Bobby Stroupe, tweeted, "We will remember."

Raiders fans will love the idea of poking the bear, but maybe they shouldn't. It's not like they've had any sort of tangible success against Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs in recent years. Mahomes has thrown for nearly 4,000 yards, 30 touchdowns, and just four interceptions against the Raiders since 2018, boasting a 10-2 career record.

Mahomes has actually never lost in Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium, leading Chiefs fans to refer to it as "Arrowhead West." Their big upset win on Christmas Day last year was trumped by the fact that Kansas City went on to win Super Bowl LVIII in Allegiant Stadium , where Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid have more wins than any Raiders QB and coach combination.

Antagonizing Mahomes, however fun it may be in the moment, isn't going to get them any closer to their first postseason win since George W. Bush was president . It's certainly not going to help them get this rivalry going in a favorable direction.
