    Former Missouri Southern Personnel Accept Coaching Positions at Div. I Program UMKC

    KANSAS CITY, MO — Former Missouri Southern softball player Josie Tofpi and former Missouri Southern Assistant Coach Cody Barham are moving up to a great opportunity coaching at Division I program.

    Josie Tofpi will be joining the University of Missouri-Kansas City Softball Coaching Staff as an Assistant Coach.

    Tofpi was one of the best players ever to put on the green & gold as she finished her career First in Runs (147) along with being in the Top 10 in many other categories,

    Tofpi was a 4-time All-MIAA Selection and a NFCA All-Region Selection back in 2021.

    This past season, Tofpi spent the year as an Assistant Coach with the Lions helping lead them to another winning season.

    Back in 2022, her senior year, Tofpi helped lead the Lions to a 41-15 record, most wins since 2001 and a bid to the NCAA Division II Regionals for the first time since 2001 as well.

    Tofpi will serve as a defensive coach for infield and outfield as well as assisting with recruiting for the Roos.

    Cody Barham joins the Roos coaching staff as an assistant coach who will be tasked with coaching pitchers and catchers as well as assisting in recruiting efforts.

    He was an assistant with the Lions under Head Coach Hallie Blackney for four years.

    During that time, he coached numerous pitchers to All-MIAA honors like Kiki Pickens, Kara Amos, Avery Tallman and Bailey Lacy.
