Two hospitalized after ‘unknown suspect’ shoots into KC home

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Police Department is investigating an overnight shooting that left one person seriously injured and another in critical condition.

According to KCPD, officers were dispatched to a home near E. 42nd Street and Vineyard Drive at about 1:45 a.m. on reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found two victims with gunshot wounds.

One victim, according to KCPD, was found on the porch. The other victim was found inside the home.

Investigations currently indicate that an “unknown suspect” had fired multiple shots at the location.

KCPD said both victims were taken to a hospital where one was reported to be in critical condition, and the other was reported to have non-life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the shooting is still under investigation.
