With training camps around the NFL underway, fans everywhere are looking at some random players making plays. Chiefs Kingdom is no different and recently there have been playmakers in camp at the receiver position. Most Chiefs fans remember the dominance of Jody Fortson in camps recently, but nowadays there is another receiver in town taking that spotlight.

That player is Nikko Remigio, a player many fans and writers tab as a potential lock for the 53-man roster. The 5-foot-10 receiver from Fresno State and California saw some headlines last season as a camp standout but was waived with an injury designation. Although his rookie year was over before it started he was getting praised by all the right people heading into his second season.

"Nikko is a prime example of an undrafted free agent who comes in and is an absolute true professional every day in the meeting rooms and every day at practice. It's the same speed [and] it's the same mentality. You root for guys like that," Offensive coordinator Matt Nagy said of Remigio.

Nagy also went on to say that Remigio could find a spot on the special teams unit. With how the receiver room for the Chiefs currently stands, however, Remigio has a shot to make some noise. Rashee Rice will more than likely be suspended for a good portion of the year, Kadarious Toney was getting running back reps , and Skyy Moore hasn't developed like every Chiefs fan wanted. Remigio has a shot to shoot up the depth chart in camp and the preseason.

Another thing in Remigio's belt is the fact that he returned punts and kicks in college. He would be a second-team All-Mountain West Conference receiver and returner in his senior year at Fresno State. He is a little raw as a prospect but projects to be a slot receiver with a lot of YAC-ability. Throw in the plays he is already making in camp and Remigio has a recipe to surprise a ton of people. It is another year of Chiefs fans getting excited over the players, but keep an eye on Nikko Remigio going forward.
