Over the years, it has been frequently suggested that the passer sounds like Kermit The Frog.

The Raiders opted to take this joke up a notch when somebody brought with them a Kermit puppet to camp.

The puppet had been customized to include Mahomes’ jersey and hair similar to his.

The clip of Raiders players laughing while defensive back Trey Taylor put the puppet on his hand quickly made the rounds on X .

Asked if it was “a smart idea to fire up Patrick Mahomes,” Reid told CBS , “I’d probably say, not.

“We don’t spend a lot of time here with puppets. We try to do our work and try to get better. That’s the important thing.”

Fans think the veteran coach handled the situation perfectly.

“No puppets just rings,” commented one.

“Probably why they win,” added another.

“Lol I love this whole drama honestly. We need it,” posted a third.

“Oh my God I love Coach Reid,” a fourth replied.

Mahomes and his Chiefs take on the division rival Raiders on October 27 and November 29.

And the three-time Super Bowl -winning signal-caller has responded in what could prove to be a chilling warning to his AFC West foes.

“It’s still early in the year. Stuff like that happens,” Mahomes told reporters.

“It’ll get handled when it gets handled.”

With Mahomes being on course for a Hall of Fame career, the Raiders may live to regret their actions.

The real winners are likely to be fans who love when a rivalry gets heated.

Mahomes’ family joined him at camp yersterday.

Wife Brittany shared some heartwarming behind-the-scenes snaps of their kids enjoying practice.

The couple announced they are expecting a third child earlier this month.
