Patrick Mahomes, Chiefs Uncork The Most Insane Trick Play

Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs may be looking to expand their trick play repertoire for next season.

The Chiefs memorably ran a potential game-winning trick play during their Week 14 contest last season against the Buffalo Bills.

The December play saw star Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce throw a lateral pass to wide receiver Kadarius Toney for what initially appeared to put the Chiefs ahead in the final minute. However, Chiefs fans clearly remember that Toney was ruled offsides before the play even began.

"Kadarius Toney" and "trick play" may not be the best mix of words for Chiefs fans to hear. But K.C. ran another one involving Toney that actually worked during Monday's camp.

Kelce wasn't involved this time and it was Toney doing the passing. The Chiefs wide receiver threw not one, but two passes. The first one was back to Mahomes. The second went all the way to Xavier Worthy for a huge conversion .

The quality of the Chiefs' receiving corps (or lack thereof) was a huge storyline last season. Kansas City led the NFL with 44 total drops throughout the year.

But with Worthy getting up to speed and Toney looking more confident, the Chiefs' wideout room could be trending up.
