    Patrick Mahomes.

There isn’t much that quarterback Patrick Mahomes or the Kansas City Chiefs high-octane offense could do that would surprise most people at this point.

But the three-peat hopefuls may have done just that during training camp on Monday morning when they pulled off a quadruple-pass trick play.

The play started with Mahomes hitting receiver Kadarius Toney behind the line of scrimmage only for Toney to pass it back to Mahomes, who then lobbed it back to Toney. The wideout then threw it deep for rookie speedster Xavier Worthy, who made a great open-field catch for a touchdown with no defender within 10 yards of him.

If the Chiefs believe they can create the time for a quadruple pass in live action, they certainly have other weapons capable of hauling in that kind of pass in Hollywood Brown, Rashee Rice and All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce.

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is considered one of the more offensively innovative minds around, and Mahomes is regarded as the best quarterback in the league. So if there’s a head coach-QB combination that could pull off such a deceptive play, it’s that one.
