PATRICK Mahomes has left Kansas City Chiefs fans with extremely high hopes for their new-look offense.

Social media has been flooded with clips of Mahomes forging dangerous-looking connections with his new corps of receivers throughout training camp.

Following their Super Bowl LVIII win against the San Francisco 49ers , the Chiefs looked to bulk up on offense.

Former first-round draft pick Marquise “Hollywood” Brown was brought in on a one-year deal, while Xavier Worthy was selected out of Texas 28th overall after setting a new combine record in the 40-yard dash.

They join now-second-year wideout Rashee Rice, who set an NFL record in postseason receptions from a rookie with 26.

During a recent press conference, Mahomes praised the new-look group.

“What impressed me so much about Hollywood is everybody told me he was a fast guy but nobody told me how much he can actually do on the football field. And you can see it,” he said.

“I mean he can run those over the middle routes. He can run really good routes and he can run deep, as well as the other receivers, you can just see the speed that we have and how it’s opening up everybody.

“And then even seeing Rashee and how he’s kind of taken that next step.

“I mean it’s a great group so I’m excited for their future because I mean the sky is the limit.”

Mahomes’ comments left Chiefs fans ecstatic on X , flocking to comment with their now sky-high expectations.

“Mahomes poised to have a massive season,” one said.

“Gonna ball out this year,” commented a second.

“Looking good for the season!” added another.

While a fourth countered, “Offense is all speed, no size. You heard it here first, they won’t be that good.”

Kansas City may not have the tallest wideout corps, but they have plenty of size in the tight end group, most notably from the 6ft 5inch four-time All-Pro Travis Kelce .

Entering his 12th NFL season, Kelce had over 1,000 receiving yards in seven consecutive seasons before 2023, when he finished with 984 after 15 games.

The Chiefs also have plenty of firepower on the ground, with Isiah Pacheco leading the way.

The third-year running back had a career year in 2023, finishing with 935 yards and seven touchdowns on the ground, along with 244 and a further two scores through the air.

They also have former Welsh international rugby star Louis Rees-Zammit, who could line up as running back or potentially wideout.

Kansas City will kick off their title defense, as well as their chase for the first-ever Super Bowl three-peat, on September 5 when they host the Baltimore Ravens .

Leading the way will be two-time NFL MVP and three-time Super Bowl MVP Mahomes.
