Chiefs' elite defense getting battle tested by star rookie

The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the best defenses in the NFL.

Highlighted by future Hall of Fame defensive tackle Chris Jones, Kansas City has a unit of players that can hurt you at every level. The secondary, though, will be tested this season after cornerback L'Jarius Sneed was traded to the Tennessee Titans. And it appears that testing has already begun in training camp.

The Chiefs' offense has been a fireworks show since camp opened, including several deep passes and long gains by first-round pick Xavier Worthy, whose speed comes without needing an introduction. Safety Bryan Cook noted that Worthy's speed was especially challenging when the Chiefs ran a blitz in Cover 0, meaning there was no safety help over the top. Cook added that the current group of receivers for Kansa City is really helping the secondary get ready and prepare for the season.

The Chiefs seem to be so good that the only offense that can beat their defense is their own. having that type of challenge in July and August will only help them once the regular season begins.
