Seemingly Bored Of His Own Greatness, Patrick Mahomes Attempts Dizzy Bat, Blindfolded Passes At Chiefs Camp

The Kansas City Chiefs are rubbing the rest of the NFL’s figurative noses in the dirt at this point. In the aftermath of back-to-back Super Bowl wins, superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Co. are dialing up quadruple passes in training camp. Safe to say Andy Reid’s Chiefs aren’t feeling pressure in the slightest ahead of their quest for an unprecedented three-peat.

If I had No. 15 under center for my team, I wouldn’t be sweating much either. But as well-known as Mahomes already is for stunning off-platform passing accuracy, unusual arm angles, and flat-out making plays that 99.9% of QBs in football history wouldn’t dream of attempting, Friday’s training camp plot twist is on a whole other level.

It’s one thing to test the waters on jump passes, or Mahomes’ trademark no-look lasers. What is this nonsense of trying to hit the net after doing a dizzy bat while blindfolded?

Whether you go off his various public appearances in Super Bowl parades or concert venues, or take stock in pure hearsay, it’s widely known that Mahomes can put away more than a few Coors Lights.

It led to one of the better ads I’ve seen in a while last year.

Bud Light is the official beer sponsor of the NFL, despite a nationwide survey that concluded zero of the 50 United States named it as their preferred brew. Thus, I assume that’s the reason Mahomes had to tread carefully when promoting Coors.

Why do I bring up adult beverages? Because I could be wrong, but I’m certain Mahomes has had a lot of practice at several varieties of drinking games with dizzy bats involved. Nevertheless, to take that over to the practice field, blindfold himself, and come somewhat close to hitting those small pockets on the throwing net? I couldn’t be much more impressed.

Mahomes is such a vibe/feel QB, so trying to unlock new levels of his uncanny football instincts doesn’t surprise me. He could sleepwalk through Reid’s playbook at this point given that he’s never played in another NFL system. The Chiefs have a culture of encouraging any play design from any source if it’ll help them get better. Not sure whose idea it was to get a blinded Mahomes dizzy batting, but I’ll assume there was some purpose behind it. At this point, we gotta give KC’s operation the benefit of the doubt.

Giants QB Daniel Jones caught a brutal stray that I felt compelled to share to cap this thang off.
