Patrick Mahomes Goes Behind the Back For Incredible Touchdown At Chiefs Camp

It sure seems like the Kansas City Chiefs are having fun while preparing to win an unprecedented third straight Super Bowl in 2024.

Patrick Mahomes has teased throwing a behind-the-back pass during game action for years, but has yet to pull the trigger on a trick play that would immediately rank among the best highlights of his career—if successful rather than disastrous, of course.

What better place for the two-time Super Bowl MVP to hone that passing gambit than training camp? Mahomes did just that during Wednesday's practice, finding running back Isiah Pacheco with a short behind-the-back pass at the goal line for a score.

Mahomes magic, clearly, is in full effect leading up to the regular season.

Pacheco, by the way, has seemingly emerged as the Chiefs' favorite beneficiary of trick plays involving their superstars. Future Hall-of-Fame tight end Travis Kelce has found Kansas City's third-year running back for three separate laterals during training camp, and likely more not captured on video.

Coach Andy Reid runs a notoriously difficult and physical training camp. Despite enduring that arduous reality, though, the Chiefs' collective spirit seems sky-high as the 2024 season fast approaches—a frightening development for the rest of the NFL with three-peat history at stake.
