When Patrick Mahomes took over as the starting quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs back in 2018, one of the first things football fans noticed about him was his unique throwing style.

Mahomes quickly made a name for himself for his ability to throw no-look passes, accurately throw off of his back foot and his sidearm three-quarter release. Fast forward seven years later, we almost take those throws from him for granted, forgetting just how special his arm truly his.

There's another unique throw in Mahomes' arsenal that he has teased doing in a game for years - the behind-the-back pass. We've seen him do it during practice over the years, both just messing around and during actual plays.

Mahomes pulled it out once again during Wednesday's training camp practice, finding running back Isiah Pacheco for six.

Mahomes has often said that he's hesitant to throw a behind-the-back pass in a game. If he misses on it, not only would it be embarrassing, but it could lead to a crucial mistake such as an interception. The situation would have to be right, with the offense being in the right part of the field, the receiver being open and the Chiefs comfortably leading the game.

Still, it's not impossible that Mahomes will do it. The offense should be high-powered this year and the Chiefs will certainly have a few big leads over the course of the season. We know that Mahomes loves to have fun on the field, and he has more than earned being able to experiment a little.

One thing's for sure, if he does complete one during a game, especially if it's a touchdown, it will be the talk of the football world for a long time and add even more to the legend of Mahomes.
