While the Kansas City Chiefs prepare for a journey to an unprecedented Three-Peat, one of the members of their family is commencing a recovery from a serious injury.

The daughter of Chiefs CEO Clark Hunt is recovering from emergency surgery after sustaining a “deep wound” while hiking in the mountains with her family this week. Ava Hunt, 18 — one of three children Clark shares with wife Tavia — was rushed to the hospital earlier after she suffered a fall.

Tavia Hunt wrote on Instagram Tuesday that her daughter “fell down the mountain” and was sent into surgery.

“It’s been a long day,” Tavia wrote . “Praise God she’s in recovery and already smiling. Please pray for a quick and complete recovery.”

Ava will be a freshman at SMU this Fall and will be a cheerleader.

She posted on her social media that the operation went "very smoothly."
