    Indiana man dead after Edgar Co. altercation

    KANSAS, Ill. (WCIA) — An altercation in Kansas, Illinois on Friday left one man dead, the coroner confirmed.

    According to the Champaign County Coroner, Xavier T. Harris, 34 of Terre Haute, was involved in an altercation near Cook Drive where he sustained a self-inflicted gunshot wound. Harris was air lifted to Carle Foundation Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 3:47 p.m.

    An autopsy is scheduled for Monday, July 1. The Illinois State Police and Champaign County Coroner’s Office are continuing to investigate.
