Wisconsin Governor Tours Lincoln Park Zoo, Explains Costal Community Grants
The city of Manitowoc is getting grant money from the state to improve an area of the Lincoln Park Zoo. Wisconsin Governor Tony Evers announced earlier this week that Manitowoc will get a little more than $95,000 for improvements in an area on the Little Manitowoc River through the Wisconsin Department of Administration’s Wisconsin Costal Management Program.

The anti-war protester accused by Wisconsin Rep. Derrick Van Orden of assault this week at the Republican National Convention will not face charges after prosecutors said they found "insufficient" evidence to back up the accusations. Kent Lovern, the chief deputy district attorney for Milwaukee County, told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that the evidence in the case, including police body camera footage, "is insufficient to support a criminal charge" against the Code Pink activist Nour Jaghama. ...

Racine death of infant boy; 25-year-old woman accused
RACINE, Wis. - A 25-year-old Racine woman is charged with first-degree reckless homicide in the death of an 11-month-old boy. The accused is Andi Praeger. According to the criminal complaint, Racine police responded to a residence near 9th and Villa on Thursday, July 11 for a report of child abuse. The infant was taken to Children's Hospital where it was determined the child "had multiple injuries including a spinal contusion and blood along his spine" as well as bleeding on both sides of his brain, the complaint says.

String of car break-ins frustrate Milwaukee's east side
MILWAUKEE — People living on Milwaukee's east side describe a string of car break-ins in multiple neighborhoods that started about two weeks ago. WISN 12 News spoke to people living in three neighborhoods in the area. Many describe break-ins overnight, but others said the break-ins often happen during daylight hours as well. Multiple residents reported nothing being stolen from their car after their window was smashed, saying the neighborhood knows to not keep anything valuable in their vehicles.
