Emerald Ash Borer found in Lennox

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — The South Dakota Department of Agriculture and Natural Resources has confirmed Emerald Ash Borer in three South Dakota Counties.

Officials report finding the presence of the invasive insect in the wood of trees in Lincoln, Minnehaha and Union Counties.

A quarantine that restricts the transport of firewood in those affected areas, as well as in Turner County, has been put in place as an effort to slow the spread of the invasive species.
