    Siouxland United FC earns first win in franchise history during inaugural home opener

    SIOUX CITY, IOWA (KCAU) – For the first time since 1999, semi-professional soccer returned to Sioux City with the Siouxland United F.C. becoming the newest expansion team to the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL).

    The club made history during its inaugural home opener at Memorial Field following a 2-1 win over Minnesota Twin Stars F.C. on Saturday night, securing their first win in franchise history.

    After a scoreless first half, Magloire Makila found the back of the net in the 47th minute for the match’s first goal. The Twin Stars responded three minutes later with an equalizer 1-1 until Nick Walker gave Siouxland United FC the lead for a good with a goal in the 72st minute.

    Siouxland United FC returns to action on Wed, May 29th hosting Dakota Fusion FC. Kickoff at Memorial Field set for 7:00pm.
