Iowa State QB Rocco Becht named to Manning Award Watch List

AMES, Iowa (KCAU) – An exciting offseason continues for Iowa State quarterback Rocco Becht and the Cyclones with ISU’s signal-caller finding himself on yet another prestigious preseason watch list.

Becht has been named to the Manning Award Watch List, presented annually to the top quarterback in the nation. The 2023 Big 12 Offensive Freshman of the Year threw for 3,120 yards and 23 TD’s, both Cyclone freshman records.

Becht ranked in the top five in both passing touchdowns and yards out of all Big 12 QB’s in 2023. His 26 touchdowns accounted for is the second-most in a single season in schools history while he also had two games in which he threw for over 300 yards, 3 or more TD’s, and 0 interceptions.
