Wayne family business becomes international home designer

WAYNE, Neb. (KCAU) — When it comes to today’s Wayne-based businesses, Timberlyne Homes has to rank near the top.

More than 2 decades ago, Len Dickinson and his wife, Jule Goeller, had a dream to share the rich history of their rural heritage with the rest of the nation, and Sand Creek Post & Beam was born.

Today, the company is known worldwide as Timberlyne. The family business started at home, producing their very first barn kit in their own driveway.

Today, the company remains based in Wayne in a 9,020-square-foot office space with a three-building production facility where outstanding timber structures are designed. More than 10,000 custom structures have been shipped to 49 states, with no two exactly the same.

“We do hundreds of projects a year, and that’s a shock to people that we have that kind of reach. The success there is that it is a package, so we can ship it. We do do turn-key so we are not on a job site for 6 months or a year at a time. We partner with a local contractor and ship our packages out and it allows us to scale the company. To start as a small barn company that ships barns and homes and commercial across the whole country,” said Cody Wortmann.

Among the company’s recent projects is the 2005 NBA Championship San Antonio Spurs practice facility.
