SIOUX CITY, Ia (KCAU) The Heelan Crusaders are coming off an 11-2 season. That’s their most wins since 2014. They also made it all the way to the Iowa Class 3A State Championship Game where they lost to Williamsburg 20-0.

The Crusaders return some good players this season. Running back Kasen Thomas Returns. He had over 400 yards and three touchdowns last season. Thomas was also a threat on defense. He had 56 tackles, which was second on the team.

The team also added quarterback Noah Conley, who transferred from Sioux City North. Conley threw for over 800 yards and three touchdowns last season for the Stars.

Heelan will start the season August 30th, on the road, as they travel to Carroll to take on Kuemper Catholic.
