SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU)– Despite today’s hot and humid weather, plenty of people spent their day outside in the heat.

Plenty of people were out and about enjoying their Sunday afternoon at Cone Park, despite the weather. From playing in the splash pad to sitting in the shade, there were also plenty of people with their bikes riding the trails and tracks.

One attendee brought his high school students from Omaha to the park today to practice for an up-and-coming competition. He says the heat and humidity was no joke.

“It’s a challenge. You have to drink plenty of water. We’ve taken frequent stops with the team and making sure everybody keeps their water bottle topped off,” said Mike Farrell, an Omaha, Nebraska resident.

If you plan to spend more time outdoors, experts recommend drinking water every 90 minutes and staying in the shade if possible.
