    Teen health fair held in Winnebago

    WINNEBAGO, Neb. (KCAU) — Some Winnebago students learned about healthier lifestyles on Monday.

    The Winnebago Comprehensive Healthcare System hosted a health fair for teens and families. The educational event was aimed toward 8th through 12th grade students, providing them targeted health messages encouraging teenagers to make healthy lifestyle choices as they grow into young adults.

    Morningside’s garden donates to Food Bank of Siouxland

    “We are trying to focus on helping them understand self care in their health, being responsible for their own health,” nursing director Jane Langemeier said. “So we have a number of educational displays here to help them foresee and work towards good health goals.”

    Students were reminded that health is about being proactive, not reactive. The event encouraged participants to ask questions or learn about resources available to help them better manage their health.
