    Siouxland Humane Society receives national recognition

    SIOUX CITY, Iowa ( KCAU ) — The Siouxland Humane Society has received national recognition for its save-rate for 2023.

    According to a release, the Siouxland Humane Society had a save rate of 98.90% by Best Friends for 2023, which exceeds the national average of 82.60%.

    “The success of the official save rate of 98.90% is due to dedicated staff, volunteers, board, and many motivated supporters that help make this success possible year after year,” PR and Volunteer Manage Kelly Erie said.

    The release states that the Siouxland Humane Society has been making strides in providing programs and services to the Siouxland community in the last 10 years.

    In 2023, the Siouxland Humane Society spent more than $87,000 on community programs including spay and neuter assistance, emergency veterinary care, veterinary services and supplies, vaccinations, a pet food bank, and more.
