SIOUX CITY, Iowa (KCAU) — On Tuesday, the LEC Authority released more information about activity at the Woodbury County jail project.

The LEC Authority turned over the keys to Woodbury County back on Aug. 21 and Aug. 22. Officials say the sheriff’s office and other county officials have started to move into the building, along with completing the setup, training, and other activities necessary to be ready to have inmates in the new jail.

On Aug. 19, utilities were transferred from Hausmann Construction to the LEC Authority. The committee received a certificate of substantial completion for the new LEC on Aug. 16. A contractual 60-day window remains open for Hausmann to complete a number of smaller projects at the site.

A ribbon cutting ceremony and open house is scheduled for Sep. 18.
