NWS said at 3 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located near St. Edward, or 13 miles southeast of Albion, moving northeast at 35 mph.
The radar indicated the storm may possibly produce 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
At 2:34 p.m., the NWS said that a thunderstorm was located 7 miles south of Tilden, or 16 miles southeast of Neligh, moving northeast at 20 mph.
The radar-indicated storm may produce 60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
“Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees,” the warning stated.
Anyone in the impacted area is asked to move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building for protection.
Additionally, northwest Iowa counties have been place in a Severe Thunderstorm Watch until 9 p.m. Counties included in the watch include, Buena Vista, Cherokee, Clay, Dickenson, O’Brien Osceola, and Plymouth. The watch was also issued for larger parts of Minnesota and Wisconsin.
