A new restaurant that is located at the former site of an iconic local restaurant celebrates if officially grand opening on Friday.

Steel Grill 51 will have a ribbon-cutting event at 10 a.m. Located at 1360 on Route 51 in Jefferson Hills, the restaurant has taken over the space formally occupied by The Blue Flame.

The Blue Flame closed this past March after 68 years in business.

“Steel Grill 51 carries forward the legacy of dining in a beloved landmark,” the restaurant says on its website. “We are excited to bring our signature home-style cooking and welcoming atmosphere to this location.”

Steel Grill 51 has an extensive breakfast and lunch menu along with a coffee bar. They’re open Sunday through Saturday 6:30 a.m. – 2 p.m.

The new restaurant is owned by husband and wife Rob and Perity Timm. They also owned West E Diner in West Elizabeth, PA.
