Thinking about adopting a new friend?

Now is the time to act with Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh hosting an event now through August 11. Adoption fees for ALL dogs six months or older are waived.

The only thing pet owners need to pay for is the county license.

HARP’s “Paw-lympics” event is happening in conjunction with the end of the 2024 Paris Olympics.

HARP, at 6926 Hamilton Avenue in the East Side and 1011 Western Avenue on the North Side, is an open-door shelter, meaning they don’t turn away any animal in need.

Like many shelters in the area, HARP consistently has more animals than they have space for them.

Here is what you get with an adoption:

    ·        Adoption fees for adult dogs (6 months or older) will be waived. County licenses will be paid for by the adopter.

Spaying/neutering Vaccinations appropriate for their age at the time of adoption Microchipping Basic health check Flea/tick protection Dogs 6 months or older are tested for heartworm. Get more information and see the adoptable dogs here .
