Liberty assessing damage after powerful storms Tuesday night
LIBERTY, Mo. — Clay County’s largest city has a mess to clean up. Trees are down across Liberty after Tuesday evening’s weather event delivered powerful winds. The FOX4 Weather Team believes this may have been a microburst with winds likely reaching 80 miles per hour. Dozens of trees fell, and homes were in danger amid the straight-line winds.
A small Missouri hospital could no longer go it alone — so it turned to KU for help
A hospital merger that caused a short-lived political storm tinged with Missouri-Kansas rivalries earlier this year kicks in with the start of July. Liberty Hospital, a 177-bed community hospital on the Missouri side of the metro, will be gobbled up by The University of Kansas Health System, a Kansas neighbor six times larger.

RIVERSIDE, Mo. — A fireworks stand was blown over by severe weather that went through Riverside, Missouri. The stand is located near 69 Highway and Northeast Vivion Road. Kurt Eckard, the owner of "Dishonest Don's Fireworks," says a burst of wind, estimated at 100 mph, blew over the fireworks tent.
