Marcus Phillips leads youth camp in Sioux Falls

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (KELO) — Tennessee pitcher and NCAA champ Marcus Phillips co-hosted the “Summer’s End Fundamental Camp” with Sanford Sports baseball academy at the Sanford Diamonds.

Marcus alongside other Sanford baseball academy graduates taught kids from grades 3-8 the basics of the sport of baseball. Phillips got to share some advice as he used to be one them.

“Keep working, you’re always going to hit some bumps in the road, you’re always going to see opportunities to fail. But you kind of have to just push through those and kind of work through those those hard times and those hardships and most time, it will turn out well,” Phillips said.

The Vols closed out the season with a 60-13 overall record.
