    Four Corners, Garretson pick up first-round wins

    MITCHELL, S.D. (KELO) — The first round of the Class ‘B’ amateur state baseball tournament concluded with two games Sunday at Cadwell Park.

    In the first game of the day, Four Corners defeated Crofton 13-10. Four Corners plated eight in the top of the third inning to jump on top 8-0. The Bluejays answered with 10 in the bottom of the inning to take the lead. After scoring one in the fourth, Four Corners added two in the fifth to retake the lead for good.

    The final game of the first round saw Garretson knock off Corsica 8-1. Aaron LaBrie threw a complete game three-hitter with 10 strikeouts. The Blue Jays jumped on the board early with two runs in the first. They blew the game open with four in the seventh.
